New in Slapdash 2.9.2 (Feb 12, 2022)
- New App Connection Experience:
- Most of the magic on Slapdash starts when you connect an application. Slapdash has changed a lot since we introduced the current app connection experience, and so we decided to give it a makeover.
- We eliminated a lot of unnecessary options, so there is less decisions to make before you connect an app. We also took the time to tell more of the story of what you can do once you connect an application.
- Customize How You Open Things:
- Slapdash is built under the assumption that everyone works a bit differently. We don't mind which apps you use, we'll just bring them all together and make your experience with your apps more powerful. And when our default experience doesn't quite match-up to people's workflows, we are always keen to be let people customize Slapdash to fit their needs.
- One area where people have a lot of preference is around the browser they use. Some people like to keep certain apps in certain browsers; others might prefer to open something in the desktop app if it's available.
- Now, in the Slapdash desktop app, you can choose which browser Slapdash uses to open things by default. Go to Settings > Preferences and you'll find a new Open Preferences panel.
- If you want to control how a specific app behaves, you can do that too. Just go to the app you want to customize in Apps > Connected to see the available options.

New in Slapdash 2.7.94 (Dec 2, 2021)
- As 2021 comes to a close, we're taking inventory and giving things some well deserved holiday polish. This release includes infrastructure improvements & design refinements across the product.
- For people with multiple workspaces, you'll be able to more clearly see which account you're logged in with before creating/joining a new one. Getting invited to join a workspace should also now work seamlessly with no need to re-login inside the desktop app. Just in case you want to clean house before the new year, deleting a workspace is now a cinch.
New in Slapdash 2.7.72 (Nov 25, 2021)
- Just in time for the holidays — you can now search your Chrome bookmarks directly through the Command Bar without needing to run the Show Chrome Bookmarks command. Simply start typing in the Command Bar and you'll automatically see your bookmarks appear in the list of results when there's a match.
New in Slapdash 2.6.43 (Oct 22, 2021)
- Now you can go back and forward in time with the Command Bar. This is helpful to re-run a search, command or go back to the previous math calculation.
- We matched the keybindings to what we use in the main window and what browsers use for forward and back. Just type ⌘ [ to go back, and ⌘ ] to go forward. If you're on Windows or Linux, use Alt + Left and Alt + Right instead.
- Because you move to a new location with Tab in the Command Bar, we also made it so that the reverse Shift Tab reverses the movement. Doing so is functionality equivalent to going back.

- Faster Paste Actions:
- There’s fast—and then there’s faster. You’ll notice a dramatic speed improvement pasting from the Command Bar with this update. So whether you’re pasting text snippets from our clipboard commands or reaching for your Calendly meeting room links, you’ll be able to drop them in without feeling any latency. As a bonus, we've also extended paste support for Windows.

- Slapdash Development Platform:
- We built the Command Bar to be the fastest interface in the world. To unlock functionality, just connect some apps. But what about the apps we don't support? Or, apps we can't possibly support, such as your company tools?
- To that end, we are opening up and open sourcing our development platform, letting anyone build insanely fast, shareable workflows.
- To get started, visit the developer site for documentation or peruse some community commands that you can one-click install for inspiration.
- SOC2 Compliant:
- Slapdash is architected with security and privacy in mind, but protecting customer data is not just confined to code. Equally important are the company processes: from the way we hire, to the tools we use, to the way we monitor and enforce our security standards.
- With that in mind, we recently went through an intensive security audit to confirm that the way we work and the way Slapdash is built adheres to the highest standards. As a result of the audit, we are now officially SOC2 Type I compliant.
- This is just one checkpoint on our journey to build humane software that people can trust.
