CCleaner reached a new version today. It implements support for Windows 8.1 (Preview) and includes cleaning routines for Internet Explorer 11, which is part of Microsoft’s upcoming operating system.
Build 4.0.4 of the cleaner also includes routines for cleaning items left behind by the new, Chromium-based Opera browser.
The developer informs that trace elimination has been improved in the case of Google Chrome as far as Flash cookies, Channel ID cookies and Last Download Location.
Furthermore, detection of the Chromium-based web browsers should be better in this release as well as that for portable browsers.
Users of CCleaner Pro now benefit from better monitoring notifications.
As far as the new programs supported by CCleaner, the list includes Sony Vegas Pro 12.0 and the following modern apps from Microsoft: Bing Search, Bing Finance, Bing Maps, Bing News, Bing Sports and Bing Travel.
