The famous Firefox extension FlashGot has received a brand new update this morning, so consumers still running it should make sure they use the latest version right now.

Basically, the purpose of FlashGot is to make sure that all download managers out there work with Firefox, including top apps such as FlashGet, Free Download Manager, GetRight, Internet Download Manager, Orbit, and Download Accelerator Plus.

The new version, labeled 1.5.5.7, comes to address some YouTube bugs, so you should now notice improved download speed when getting files from the video sharing service.

In addition, the fresh build packs more resilient internal preference settings, so overall, FlashGot should work a bit faster and be more stable regardless of the platform you are using.

Keep in mind that FlashGot works with Firefox, SeaMonkey and Thunderbird, with support also offered for the latest versions released in the last couple of months.
