Together with the release of Chrome 22 stable, Google also updated the dev channel for the browser. The new dev revision is 23.0.1271.6 and it is available for Windows, Mac, Linux, and Chrome Frame.

It does not introduce any new features, but it continues fixing existing bugs and brings to the table an updated V8 engine, to version 3.13.7.2.

The development team included several fixes to forced compositing mode, which increased input latency, sometimes even with more than 300 milliseconds.

Additionally, some crash bugs have been eliminated, some of them audio-related and one that terminated the browser when clicking repeatedly on the microphone button on google.com, for speech input.

Fixes for the Windows release touch refer to issue with path lengths for storage partitions and input using in Chinese, Japanese and Korean using the virtual keyboard in Metro mode. On Linux the repairs refer to choppy WebRTC audio.
