Even though plenty of sources close to the Redmond campus are suggesting that Windows 8 is slowly becoming a disappointing product, Microsoft continues its advertising efforts for the new operating system.

The company has recently released two new advertisements that bring a couple of Windows 8 features in the spotlight, including the heavily promoted Picture Password.

If we are to trust the rumors, Microsoft has prepared approximately $1.5 billion (€1.3 billion) for the so-called Windows 8 marketing blitz in both the United States and the rest of the world.

Still, Microsoft chooses to remain tight-lipped on Windows 8 sales, but CEO Steve Ballmer initially hinted that the company had managed to sell approximately 40 million copies of the operating system in just a single month.
