14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft has already said so many times in the past that Windows 8.1 would spawn a new wave of devices, so it appears that the company is now working with partners on several new projects.
The Verge reports that the software maker hinted during the BUILD developer conference that devices with screens of up to 10.6 inches and resolutions of 2560x1440 could be released in the coming months, but no specifics have been provided.
Word is that Microsoft is also preparing its own 8-inch Surface tablet that would compete with the iPad mini and Nexus 7, with the public launch very likely to take place before year end.
Windows 8.1 has been specifically optimized to work on smaller tablets too, with both the Start screen and the Windows Store now working just fine in portrait mode.
