HitmanPro.Alert received a major update yesterday, but at the moment of writing there were no details about the changes it went through. Today, a representative from SurfRight contacted us and informed of the modifications.

Compared to version 1.0 of the application, the latest development boasts an entirely new architecture and increased compatibility with third-party software that hooks into web browsers.

Also new is the configuration panel, which lets you control the display of the alert showing that HitmaPro.Alert is active when launching the browser.

System resource usage has been improved as the application should now require less CPU. Measures have been taken to improve its resilience against attacks, too.

Furthermore, the developer introduced passive vaccination against some malware families (the feature is turned on by default); this consists in tricking the threats into thinking they’re running in a virtual machine instead of a real system.

HitmanPro.Alert runs on Windows XP (SP3) through 8 and it is compatible with all web browsers.
