Windows 10 build 9926 brings plenty of visual changes to the desktop, including new icons and a completely flat taskbar with smaller buttons, and by the looks of it, users are really impressed with Microsoft's work in this regard.

If you do like this new Windows 10 look but don't really want to give up on Windows 8.1 and switch to the Technical Preview, there's now an option to get the user interface on your computer without upgrading.

A theme released by the guys over at CleoDesktop, and which is available free of charge, makes your Windows 8.1 desktop look just like the one in Windows 10 build 9926, with new icons, borderless windows, and more.

Just like all third-party themes, you need to patch theme files with UXTheme Multi-Patcher, and only then try to change the visual style.

Additionally, if you want to get the full Windows 10 experience, third-party software apps really lend you a hand, including StartIsBack to get a full-featured Start menu looking like the one in Windows 10, as well as OldNewExplorer, that allows you to disable ribbons and enable details panels.

Overall, this is indeed a great theme for getting the Windows 10 look on any Windows 8.1 computer, but don't forget that joining the Windows Insider Program and deploying the Technical Preview doesn't cost a thing, so anyone can do it right now if they're willing to install experimental builds of Windows 10.
