Concept imagines potential Surface Phone running Windows 10

Microsoft is working to expand its phone portfolio with new models, and some voices out there claim that the company could even look at the Surface tablet for design cues for a potential new model that could hit the market as the “Surface Phone.”

Redmond obviously remains tight-lipped on this, but designers across the world used this opportunity to envision a Surface Phone and show everyone what such a device could look like.

This concept created by Nadir Aslam imagines a device running Windows 10 on a 5.7-inch full HD display and coming with a Surface pen and a Touch Cover to make productivity better on the go.

Needless to say, this phone would come with Office, Skype, OneNote, and other Microsoft apps, just like all the other Windows Phones currently on the market.

The device would be made of vapor magnesium, the same material that’s being used for the case of the Surface tablet, and comes with all-aluminum pressure-sensitive Surface Pen featuring the same options as on the Surface Pro 3.

Overall, the design of this imagined Surface Phone is indeed appealing, and the idea could be further refined by Microsoft to launch a really powerful productivity workhorse that would easily compete with Samsung’s Note 4. In the meantime, however, the only flagships you can buy are the same old Lumia 930 and 1520.
