While the entire online world is still laughing after Google officially became a more valuable company than Microsoft, the Redmond-based technology giant dropped to position number 5 in the latest Best Global Brands annual report by Interbrand.

The ranking concerning the top 100 brands of 2012 placed Google on the fourth position, while Facebook is only the 69th company on the list.

Microsoft fell two positions as compared to last year’s top, while Amazon recorded an impressive growth from number 36 last year to 20 in 2012.

Although this doesn’t have too much to do with the technology subjects we’re covering, it’s still worth mentioning that the leading position went to Coca Cola, while Apple snatched the second spot of the podium.
