Redmond-based tech giant Microsoft continues its fight again piracy across the world with a new agreement with Samsung and HP specifically aimed at the Chinese market.

As part of the new deal, HP and Samsung will ask local partners to install genuine Microsoft software on the computers they sell and thus prevent pirated copies of Windows and Office from reaching the market. In order to reduce costs, many Chinese retailers were installing illegal copies on Windows on the computers they sold.

Microsoft signed a similar partnership with Lenovo in March, according to China Tech News, so this new agreement is supposed to strengthen the software maker’s collaboration with local partners.

At the same time, One Zero, a major Chinese retailer, has also expressed its intention to join the anti-piracy effort, promising to sell computers powered by genuine Windows software.
