Microsoft and Local.com have signed a new partnership to enhance the Bing search engine, this time with location-based local product data provided by the latter.

As part of the agreement, Local.com will provide valuable data such as retail locations, brands, categories, and product availability information, the two companies said.

"We're pleased to be partnering with Bing to provide relevant local product shopping information to millions of consumers," said Heath Clarke, Local Corporation, chairman and CEO.

"Our dynamic local product data enhances the online shopping experience for consumers by providing them with valuable information about which retailers carry the products they are looking for."

Microsoft keeps improving Bing with similar tech, as the company continues the race with Google for the world’s number one search engine. Data, on the other hand, shows that Google is still leading the market with a 66 percent share.
