Microsoft has once again brought the new Windows 8.1 OS update at the Worldwide Partner Conference 2013 in Houston, explaining that it was designed from the very beginning to be more user friendly.

Tami Reller, chief marketing officer for Windows, said during the opening keynote that Windows 8.1 was created to feel natural, hence the return of the Start button and all the other improvements.

Reller has emphasized that Windows 8.1 is the latest innovation in the OS market, pointing out that Microsoft wanted to make everything easier for users by integrating support for all modern technologies.

Windows 8.1 Preview is already available for testing for Windows 8 users, with a free update up for grabs from the Store. According to sources familiar with the matter, the operating system is set to go live later this year in October.
