While all eyes are now focused on Windows Blue and the changes it brings to the Windows 8 ecosystem, Microsoft is already one step ahead and working on something new for its users.

Stephen Chapman of MSFTKitchen has found a new Microsoft employee online resume that gives us a hint into what the future Metro apps could look like, as it’s a well-known fact that the Redmond-based giant is betting big on this kind of software.

“After a re-organisation, some people of my team and I moved in a brand new team inside Windows vNext. The team is called Inbox Experience/Platform Showcase Apps. The goal of my team is to ship the most fun/secret/risky/showcasable apps inside Windows and its ecosystem,” one of the resumes reads.

It’s not yet clear whether Microsoft plans to bring these “risky” apps in Windows Blue or wait until Windows 9, but we already know that Blue will come with several improvements for the Modern apps.

A reworked version of Fresh Paint is very likely to debut in Blue, but Microsoft is apparently working on a larger app release that could be unveiled sometime in the next couple of years.
