As you most likely know if you’re a Windows 8 adopter, Microsoft is offering several pre-installed apps in its newest operating system, all of them supposed to run in the Modern UI.

It appears that the Redmond-based technology giant is planning to release a major update for the Mail, Calendar, Music and Games apps for Windows 8 and Windows RT, as we’re getting closer to the official debut of Windows Blue.

According to a report published by Mary Jo Foley of ZDNet, the updates might be released as soon as this month, even though Blue isn’t supposed to hit shelves sooner than August 2013.

The new versions would bring several improvements, most of them supposed to tackle bugs and issues reported by users in the past months.

As usual, Microsoft doesn’t want to comment on these rumors, but keep an eye on this month’s Patch Tuesday, as it might bring plenty of goodies for Windows 8 users.
