The HERE Maps application, exclusively available on Windows Phone 8 and on Nokia’s very own Lumia 2520 tablet up until now, is now up for grabs for Windows RT 8.1 users.

The new app has been published in the store recently and comes with the same feature package as on all the other Nokia devices, including options to view street level imagery, access dedicated city pages, get walking or driving directions, and share places with friends.

At the same time, the app also offers users the possibility to download maps to their tablets and open them at a later time, without the need for an Internet connection.

While the application is free, it asks for Windows RT 8.1 and doesn’t offer support for any other OS version besides those running on ARM processors.

This means that Surface RTs are fully compatible, so download the HERE Maps for Windows RT 8.1 if you already own a Microsoft RT tablet.
