A new Skype beta version rolled out last week sports Microsoft and Facebook account integration, but it looks like there's even more to come in the next months.

According to a report issued by The Verge, Skype will soon get video messaging, which is a dedicated feature that allows users to send messages comprising prerecorded video clips. Whenever the contact comes online, he receives the message and is allowed to play the video.

In addition, Skype will get a fresh design to get in line with the new Windows 8 appearance. The Metro-inspired look will be accompanied by multiple Windows 8-specific updates, including Outlook.com integration.

The debut of the new Skype version is very likely to happen before the end of the year. In the meantime, you can give a try to the beta version released last week that can be downloaded straight from Softpedia via this link.
