Skype for Windows 8 is the latest version of the famous VoIP client that received the recently-introduced video messaging option, so a new update is now waiting for your download in the Store.

As we can all see in the release notes, the new Skype for Windows 8 version comes with video messaging and other general fixes, so the app is most likely supposed to load a bit faster and be more responsive.

The video messaging option was recently launched by Microsoft in the desktop version of Skype and it allows users to send video messages to their contacts even if they are offline.

Once they log in back to Skype, users receive the video just like any other text message sent while being offline. Of course, they are allowed to watch the clip and reply with either a line of text or another video.
