Concept designer imagines a new Start menu with transparency

Microsoft is working to add transparency to the Windows 10 Start menu, and since nobody actually knows what the new option will look like when it gets the green light, designers across the world try to envision it in their very own concepts.

This is the case of the work you see here, which was created by DeviantArt user Tailslol0 and based on a concept that we first told you about in December 2014.

As you can see for yourselves, the concept has been revamped with a new Start menu that adopts a cleaner design, obviously with transparency, which not only that looks good but also makes sense in Windows 10.

The idea is as simple as it could be: users need a minimal Start menu without too many options, with quick access to the most important parts of the operating system.

The biggest problem with this concept, however, is that the app list is absent from the Start menu, so the feature is actually missing one of its key purposes. Obviously, nobody says that it's perfect, but with few tweaks and there, it could actually work.

Microsoft has promised to have a look at all these concepts to get new ideas on how to improve Windows 10, so it's definitely a good thing to see such designs being published online as the Redmond-based firm still has enough time to implement changes in its OS.
