Designer bundles the System Tray right in the Start menu

If you were looking for a much more advanced Start menu in Windows 10 that could do more than just provide you with access to installed apps, this concept could really be your cup of tea.

DeviantArt user wwsalmon created a concept that makes the Start menu the one destination for everything in Windows 10, including the Charms bar that was previously available in Windows 8.

In this concept, charms are directly integrated into the Start menu and allow you to access settings or network from a single place. The System Tray is also part of the Start menu, so there’s more room on the taskbar in case you’re working with many apps at the same time.

There’s one big issue, however. If you’re the kind of user who wants to keep the desktop a familiar working environment, there are slight chances to find this useful. Without a system tray and with all options integrated into the Start menu, it could really be difficult to get around the operating system, especially if you don’t want to spend too much time learning new things.

On the other hand, making the Start menu a much more advanced feature is a thing that Microsoft should consider for Windows 10, so let’s just hope that the company actually has a look at this before rolling out the final version of the operating system.

According to sources, this should happen in the second half of 2015, so there’s obviously plenty of time left to make more changes here and there.
