Microsoft announced at BUILD 2015 that iOS and Android apps can easily be ported with small tweaks to the original code, but the software giant also revealed something that only few people expected: there’s already an app that was originally developed for iOS and then ported to Windows Phone in the store.

What’s more, since it’s one of the biggest titles released in the last few months, chances are you already installed it on your phone.

Candy Crush Saga, which recently launched on Windows Phone, is actually the iOS version of the game with small modifications to its code to run on Microsoft’s platform.

The game runs so well that nobody knew it was actually a game developed for iPhone and iPad, so yes, if you’re an iOS developer, you can really make your apps run flawlessly on Windows Phone.

Microsoft hopes that with this new approach for apps developed to run on other platforms, more developers will finally give Windows and Windows Phone a chance, especially because the opportunity to reach a continuously growing audience is increasing. Not to mention that thanks to Windows 10, the modifications devs need to make to their apps to work on Windows are minimal.

All of this will be possible once Windows 10 becomes available, which according to sources should happen during the summer. Windows 10 for phones, on the other hand, is likely to arrive in the fall.
