Tomahawk is definitely not your average audio player. It breaks the mold through its social component that permits you to listen to the same music as your friends, automatically streamed from online repositories such as YouTube, Spotify or SoundCloud.

It can act as a regular audio player and render music stored locally; but this is old school, and not necessarily in a good way, as the Web offers greater variety. As such, Tomahawk can search for tracks on major music streaming websites and lets you create playlists.

Even more, Tomahawk users can exchange songs with each other by simply sending the metadata, and the player finds the best match on the available content sources.

The application relies on the fact that the end purpose is for the user to listen to music with no concern on the location of the track, which could be stored online or locally. Download Tomahawk for Windows Download Tomahawk for Mac
