Microsoft silently adds new system sounds in Windows 10

Microsoft is working to overhaul Windows 10, but it turns out that it’s not all just about the visual interface of the operating system. The modern experience that Redmond is aiming at with Windows 10 also includes new sounds that would come with the redesigned apps offered with the core OS.

WP7Forum.ru has come across 8 such sound files that are hiding in the operating system and that could be just the beginning of a broader overhaul of the whole pack available in Windows.

Right now, these audio files are being used for User Account Control, background and foreground notifications, message nudge, calendar, email, messaging, and system generic notifications.

Even though Microsoft hasn’t said a thing about these new audio files, it’s believed that the same would be offered on the other versions of Windows 10 scheduled to launch on tablets and phones.

This way, the company would indeed offer the seamless experience across different devices that it’s aiming for with Windows 10, so you shouldn’t feel any difference when hearing an email notification, for example, on your phone or on your PC.

Needless to say, it will be interesting to listen to the other audio notifications that Microsoft is working on for Windows 10, but in the meantime, listen to the existing ones by clicking the play button below.
