Windows 10 for phones preview is one of the hottest news subjects for Microsoft enthusiasts, especially because the Redmond-based tech giant remains tight-lipped on its release date, but new information arrives thanks to the leaked screenshots that have reached the web in the last few hours.

For example, one of the photos showing the settings screen reveals that Windows 10 for phones could support external keyboards, and as McAkins Online notes, this could be a move to bring the new smartphone operating system closer to Android and iOS, which were both having this feature since a few versions ago.

Of course, Microsoft hasn’t said anything about such a feature in Windows 10 for phones, but there’s no doubt that it would really be helpful for many people out there as they try to remain productive on the go.

As far as details are concerned, little is known right now about this new release, but Microsoft says that the majority of Windows Phone devices should be able to give it a shot when it becomes available.

There are indeed a few Windows Phone models that might not support the preview, but further details would be provided when the preview finally gets the green light and starts shipping to Windows Insiders across the world.

This should happen either later today or in the next few weeks, as a number of users have already received an early build of the OS as part of the initial rollout.
