Why use the hamburger, when the pivot is much helpful?

One of the most criticized changes in Windows 10 for phones is the addition of the hamburger-style menu that showed up in several new apps, including the redesigned Photos and Calculator tools.

The hamburger, which is borrowed from Android, pushes Microsoft's platform in a direction that could make it lose the personal feel that Windows Phone once had, so users expect the software giant to stick to its pivot menu that was available in the WP8.1.

Reddit user Bloq couldn't wait for some official changes to be made by Microsoft to Windows 10 for phones and created his own version of the operating system without a hamburger menu and more focused on the three-dot symbol.

“I can accept that in some apps, pivots just don't work. The new office apps come to mind. I can accept a hamburger there. Same thing with Cortana. But why would you use them in all apps when you could use a pivot?” he posted.

At this point, Microsoft hasn't yet offered an answer on the future of the hamburger-style menu in Windows 10 for phones, but since the new operating system is so much focused on this particular approach, little could change in the upcoming builds.

And yet, what we have here is the very first preview build of Windows 10 for phones and that leaves room for more hope that the hamburger menu doesn't have a future on Microsoft's phones.
