As part of the Patch Tuesday cycle, Microsoft also released a security update aimed at Windows 8.1, including both the Preview and the RTM versions.

The KB2880289 bulletin is supposed to fix a flaw with Adobe Flash Player in Internet Explorer 11 and is aimed at devices running Windows RT 8.1 and Windows 8.1 RTM, both 32- and 64-bit flavors.

“The update is also available for Internet Explorer 11 Preview in Windows 8.1 Preview and Windows RT 8.1 Preview releases, as well as for Internet Explorer 11 in Windows 8.1, Windows RT 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2 releases. The update is available via Windows Update,” Microsoft briefly said in a security advisory.

Just like all the other patches, this first Windows 8.1 RTM fix is being delivered via the built-in Windows Update feature, so you have nothing else to do than to connect to the Internet to automatically deploy it.
