Windows Blue is reportedly ready to enter the M2 development stage, so Microsoft is already trying to schedule a date when the product will officially go live.

According to the same ZDNet report we’ve already told you about, Windows Blue is very likely to be released this summer, most likely in August.

Surprisingly, the Redmond-based technology giant isn’t planning on introducing any developer or consumer previews, but instead it wishes to bring Windows Blue directly to the market.

It’s going to be a major upgrade for Windows 8, rather than a new Windows contraption, as Microsoft is also reportedly working on Windows 9, the next standalone version of its operating system.

As usual, these are all rumors, as Microsoft decided not to talk about the Windows 8 successors at all.
