This weekend, a new build emerged for Windows Firewall Control, changing the revision number to 4.0.7.2. It includes a couple of improvements and a fix for a glitch relating to the “location” and “direction” options included in the first notification alert.

The developer informs that the current release of the application no longer offers the root folder as the default path for exporting a full or partial policy; instead, the program now opens the file browser to the last used path.

Another improvement touches on handling exceptions; however, there are no details available regarding how this modification would affect the product.

Windows Firewall Control is not a firewall per se. It is a utility that extends the functionality of the default firewall in Windows by allowing quick access to frequently used options.
