Monument Browser is offered as a universal app

Opera launched its browser on Windows phones with ad blocking features earlier this year, and now another developer is doing the same thing, in an attempt to give users a cleaner way to browse the web on Windows devices.

The new app is called Monument Browser and is offered as a universal app, so it works on both mobile phones and PCs. And yet, it’s hard to believe that too many users would install it on Windows 10 PCs since browsers such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge are already more popular and advanced choices.

On mobile devices, on the other hand, Monument Browser can really come in handy because the number of alternatives to Microsoft Edge is quite small at this point, and ad blocking is a feature that everyone’s looking for these days.

The feature lineup is quite compelling for Windows phone users, as it includes tab support, background downloads, so you can continue browsing the web while your files are downloading in the background, picture in picture just like on TV, multi-window browser, and the aforementioned ad blocking.

What’s important to know is that Monument Browser only works on Windows 10 devices, so you won’t be able to install it on Windows Phone 8.0 or 8.1. It supports both smartphones and PCs and can be found in the store with a completely free license.
