Could this be the next cumulative update for users?

Microsoft is expected to launch new Windows 10 mobile and PC builds this week, and while the company only provides us with the almost-trademarked “soon” timing, more evidence of new versions appears online.

Earlier today, we reported that Windows 10 Mobile build 14310 was spotted running on a Lumia 950 XL at Build 2016 last week with new features, but while this is part of the Redstone update (officially known as Anniversary Update) coming this summer, there’s another update in queue for 10586 users.

@rlinev posted a screenshot allegedly showing Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.218, which is very likely to be a cumulative update that could be aimed at both insiders and retail users. Microsoft has already revealed that Windows Phone devices not getting the upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile can continue running 10586 preview builds, so a new update for them would really be welcome.

Very often cumulative updates are also shipped to retail users, so if this is the case, the chances are that .218 could bring mostly fixes and only small feature changes.

Of course, take everything with a pinch of salt for the time being because Microsoft can change its plans overnight should any major bug be experienced. More information should be provided by the company itself very “soon,” as new builds are expected this week.
