NextGen Media Player is a handy tool for users who want to watch movies by using a simple interface. The goal of the program is to help you play multiple file formats without installing additional codecs on your system.

A multimedia player is an essential tool and it is often one of the first programs installed on any computer. However, some media players cannot open files without installing codecs which allow them to read the data saved in movie or music files.

This program aims to bypass this issue by including a set of codecs which enable it to open the most popular media files. The list of supported file types includes AVI, MPEG, MOV and MKV files but also additional formats such as FLA, WRAP, and M2V. Unfortunately, the NextGen Media Player is optimized for opening movie files since MP3 or WAV formats are not supported.

Unlike other video players that have grown more complex with each version, this application only includes the basic features. Its interface only allows you to select the video and watch it in the main window.

Although NextGen Media Player is easy to use and provides smooth playback, its feature list seems too slim for most users.
