CALENDAR

The notion of time is one of the most valuable resources we have and tried to exploit throughout the years. A stable layout and measurement unit helps us organize our day to day activities, with computer applications providing a certain degree of aid in this regard. Since each year is structured a little differently, CALENDAR gives you the possibility to determine dates of interest or generate exactly the monthly layout of a year of your choice.

Built as a basic C / C++ program, one might expect it to be a little rough around the edges, or lacking practicability. On the contrary, although it might not be visually appealing, it's decent enough to keep everything intuitive and lets anyone quickly accommodate. What's more, you can take it anywhere you go since it takes little space, system resources and does not need to be installed.

Before actually getting to use its functions, you are required to create an account, by specifying a desired username and corresponding password. However, practicability is questionable because there are no personal settings or saving options that can be used again in the application.

Once connected, you can fully take advantage of the four major functions. Controls are limited to your keyboard, but are simple enough, with every step of the way displaying helpful info so you know exactly what to type in.

The application gives you the possibility to determine what day of the week a specific date is in a custom year, get ahold of a calendar from any month, generate one for an entire year, or simply find out how many and on which dates a specific day occurs in a month.

Only a few requirement fields pop up, depending on your selection. Generating a calendar for a custom year also gives you the possibility to save it to a TXT file, with a clever character arrangement. Sadly, this is the only feature that comes equipped with a save function.

Taking everything into consideration, we can say that CALENDAR, feels a little rough around the edges, indeed, but the overall design and implementation of features makes it both intuitive and practical. Although the feature set is poor, it can greatly come in handy for event planners, saving the time needed to analyze a calendar for custom dates.
