Time management is an important activity that can greatly enhance a business, but also help you reach personal goals easier. Keeping track of things that need to be done isn’t always a task that your brain can handle as you’d like to, and this is exactly where specialized applications like Timer review come in handy, also alerting you when time is due.

A neat advantage is that you don’t even have to go through a setup process for the application to function as intended, thanks to the clever development process. This means you can carry it around on a USB flash drive to use on other computers as well, but you need to make sure the target PC is fitted with Java Runtime Environment. Another portability perk is that system registries remain intact.

On the visual side of things, Timer review stores all of its features in a compact window, but you can resize it for more space. The texture layout is clean, with the design being intuitive, letting you easily accommodate. An initial timer tab lets you specify general task details like title, duration in minutes, as well as what you want to do.

When started, the application minimizes to system tray, and can’t be brought back up until the timer runs out. Hovering the mouse cursor over the icon shows the task name, and the remaining completion time. A new window is brought up when done, to show you the task, notes, and what you have accomplished.

Only after a task is finished can you set a new timer. Sadly, the application only gives you the possibility to set one task at a time, and running another instance isn’t possible. What’s more, notifications only come in the form of the previously mentioned prompt, but with no sound to accompany it, and no option to set one.

Taking everything into consideration, we can say that Timer review comes with good intentions, but doesn’t quite manage to bring anything new on the market. Moreover, you can only set one task at a time, and even though input fields are intuitive and don’t require much effort, the alert system is rough around the edges, and no option to track task history.
