Rainbow Folders is an easy to use tool, which allows you to change color of the icon representing chosen folder to any color you like.

What for ? Mainly to boost yours computer usage speed & skills. When you're exploring directory which contains lots of subdirectories in Windows Explorer you can easily commit a mistake, e.g. by clicking the folder's icon which have similar name to the one you really wanted to go.

When the folders will be marked with the colors of your desire you won't make any mistake and after some time you'll be clicking the right folders by the impulse.

Here are some key features of "Rainbow Folders":

· It's a first program which allows you to change folder's icon color to really any you want, not one of the predefinated colors.
· Support for 4 languages: Polish, English, German & Italian. The operating system language is autodeteced at program's start and it's interface language is changed to a proper one.
· RF is free even for commercial use (so you can use it in e.g. office). But you must remember that it's distributed under Postcardware license. See License section, for more details.
· With help of this program you can colorize folders that they will look like the one from Windows NT/95/98/ME or like the new folders from Windows 2000/XP.
· RF doesn't ingerate in system using 'force', it uses standard methods which are used by system internaly to mark special folders (like My documents).
· This program doesn't modify any system files or Registry, so it will never lead to any system conflicts or something.
· RF is an easy to use tool and also has many configuration possibilities.
· Using RF you can change not only the folder's color but also you can protect it from deleting by mistake by replacing the standard 'Confirm folder deletation' dialog with dialog which warns the user about deleting important system folder. It's a very useful option when the computer is used by many people.
· With RF you can add an optional text that will 'pop up' when the cursour stops above the folder's icon for a while. Whith this you can e.g. warn other computer user with hint like 'Don't delete me, I'm a very important folder' :))).
· Using RF you can colorize as much folders as you like. There's no known limitation in the system (program was tested with more than 50 colorized folders at the same time).
· The program doesn't need to work whole time in the background for the effects to be visible. You just colorize folders you wish to and close the prgram. That's it.
· RF can easily decolorize colorized folder, so if you changed your mind there's no problem with returning to the old folder view.
· This program should work under most versions of Windows (it will not work under Windows 95, NT & few editions of 2000).
· RF has very detailed help file, which will guide you step by step by colorizing process and explain to you every advanced option.
· The program doesn't have an installer, so it will not leave any trash in Registry or hidden in the system dir unninstallers which only waste disk space.
