Computer customization most likely starts with the desktop background picture. Since the Internet is full of pictures uploaded on a daily basis, you might not settle for just one picture. WallZilla comes with just the right tools to help you change your wallpaper at regular time intervals.
It’s best to check the tray area for any new icons on launch, because it’s where the application goes by default, with no tooltip to let you know it’s there. You might also want to interact with this icon, so you can set the wallpapers to be used in the process, as well as other related options.
There are three main configuration areas, one of which isn’t really mandatory, but helps you set centering type, maximum offscreen value, and image zoom when automatically fitting. However, you first need to select some pictures to add to the gallery of wallpapers.
Just like default Windows features, WallZilla allows you to create multiple galleries, so you don’t get bored of the same pictures. Drag and drop is not supported for importing pictures, but the browse dialog is easy enough to use, letting you select multiple pictures of formats like BMP, GIF, JPG, JPEG, PNG, ICO, TIFF, TGA, PCX, WBMP, WMF, JP2, JPC, PGX, PNM, RAS, MNG, SKA, and RAW.
Pictures start changing automatically according to default values once a gallery is created. Accessing the main tab is where you get to choose the switch interval, which can be as fast as ten seconds.
Display order can be set to random for a bit more diversity, and there’s the possibility to switch to the next, or previous pictures at the press of a button, with thumbnails offering preview. Sure enough the application can also pick images in an specific order, and even set to run with Windows. Image align options are picked from a drop-down menu, with options for center, tile, stretch, or smart, function which attempts to perfectly fit the picture on your screen.
All things considered, we come to the conclusion that WallZilla is a reliable application you can use to create galleries of wallpapers, to have a new, fresh picture greet you every time you reach the desktop. Customization is decent, with multiple alignment options, and time configurations, making it worth a try in the end.
