ooVoo is an instant messaging service that you can use to chat with people at home or at work.
Upon installation, ooVoo offers to change the homepage and default search engine of your web browser, as well as install the ooVoo toolbar.
Its user interface is a little more professional-looking that you have already gotten yourself used to, so that's definitely an added bonus.
When first initiating the software, you have to create an account. Then you will be greeted by the Welcome Center, a window where you can check your audio and video settings, invite friends to ooVoo, or video call friends who are not on ooVoo.
ooVoo borrows many features from other instant messaging tools, but it also offers some new ones.
For example, right next to the status message is the Facebook icon, allowing you to instantly connect to your Facebook account.
There's also a telephone option, but it doesn't work for all countries displayed in ooVoo, and you have to buy credits in order to place a call.
Video chatting with friends who don't use ooVoo is also possible (up to five people at a time), as they simply need to click the Answer button once they have received your invitation link.
The image and sound quality during a video call is excellent, and ooVoo easily surpasses other similar products.
My ooVoo Card is an option found in the menu where you can edit your account and personal details, phone numbers, and interests.
CPU and memory resources are moderately used when ooVoo is running.
Overall, ooVoo turns out to be an excellent instant messaging platform that offers superb video chatting services, and we strongly recommend you give it a try.
