Automatic File Downloader

Automatic File Downloader is a portable application that you can use to schedule files to automatically download at the later time, even if you leave the computer unattended.

It features simple and intuitive options that can be tackled even by casual PC users with no previous experience in such apps.

As long as you have .NET Framework installed, you don't need to set up anything else. This means that you can save the files in a custom location on the HDD or copy them to a USB flash drive, in order to directly run the program on any machine. It doesn't make any modifications to the Windows registry settings.

As far as the interface is concerned, Automatic File Downloader adopts a small window with a plain and simple structure split into two areas dedicated to the settings and proxy configuration.

In order to schedule a file download, all you have to do is enter its URL, saving directory on the computer, time interval, and duration. It's possible to opt between number and timestamp mode, switch to another language for the interface, set an IP address and port number of use a proxy server, as well as set a username and password to use a proxy login.

The application gets minimized to the systray while monitoring the download time. It becomes non-intrusive and doesn't interrupt your regular PC activity.

We haven't come across any compatibility issues with newer Windows in our tests, although Automatic File Downloader hasn't been updated for a long time. It features straightforward options for scheduling file downloads, backed by approachable configuration parameters. CPU and RAM usage was minimal, so its impact on the machine's performance was barely noticeable. However, it doesn't implement options for scheduled batch downloads.
