YouTube Downloader is a small-sized application that can fetch video clips from YouTube and save them on your computer. If there are multiple quality streams available, then you can pick a favorite one. This way, you can seamlessly create a collection of various clips to burn on discs, such as music, documentaries or tutorials.

Installing this tool doesn't take long, as there aren't any unfamiliar options involved. However, it depends on .NET Framework to work properly, so you should make sure to have this platform installed.

As far as the interface is concerned, YouTube Downloader opts for a small window that shows all settings put at your disposal. You can get a better idea of all possibilities before diving into the configuration operation.

The YouTube URL can be typed or pasted in the dedicated box. Unfortunately, the tool doesn't support a Clipboard live monitoring tool for detecting copied links and pasting them into this area automatically. On top of that, it's not capable of downloading videos from multiple URLs at the same time, nor of identifying playlists to grab the clips sequentually.

Once the link is detected, the tool shows the video's thumbnail in the window, along with all quality options available. All you have to do is pick one from the dropdown menu and click a button to download it to any preferred directory on the computer. The job shouldn't take long and you can open the file in a video player to inspect quality results and find out if you're satisfied with the outcome.

YouTube Downloader used a minimal amount of system resources for downloading videos in our tests, and tasks were carried out pretty fast. However, it failed on several occasions to complete jobs, prompting an error and quitting to the desktop.

We are also keeping mind that the developer hasn't updated this product for a significant amount of time, so it likely has compatibility issues with newer Windows models.
