FSS Google Books Downloader is a lightweight tool that allows you to download books from the Internet and convert them to a format that can be opened on your computer. It is a useful tool if you prefer to read the books on your computer instead of your mobile device.

If you frequently read ebooks, the Google Play Store is an extensive source that includes multiple domains and genres. Unfortunately, the books are only available on your mobile device and cannot be downloaded in a different format in order to read them on the computer.

This compact application is designed to retrieve the books from the website by simply using the web page address. It is also able to convert the book to PDF, JPG or PNG in order to open it with an image viewer or PDF reader.

The user is able to select the output format and adjust the resolution or DPI in order to optimize the reading parameters. The books are downloaded to a specified folder and the app creates new folders in order to organize the output image files.

However, the name of the folder is given by the book name which is sometimes not detected correctly and replaced with “unknown”. Since the folder content is replaced by each download, you should select the folder manually or rename the exported files.

Unfortunately, the app does not support some of the links which prevents you from downloading the book. In some cases, the output PDF document only included the book cover and the table of contents without the actual book content.

The quality of the output document is nothing to write home about but the text is readable. Unfortunately, the content of the PDF document cannot be searched or selected as the program merely merges the downloaded page snapshots into a PDF format.

During the installation, the program might prompt you to install additional applications which are not required for downloading the books. You should carefully review the options and select the ones that you find useful.
