The only thing to worry about when you want to get in touch with someone is what method to use. With modern devices all connected to the World Wide Web, it's possible to make phone calls easier, start chat sessions and send emails, even with possibilities for video-enabled conversations. What VMail wants to do is to automate the process of sending emails, while reducing the effort on your behalf to nine seconds of speaking.

After a short and uneventful setup process you're free to take the app for a spin to see what it's all about. System resources used are of no concern. However, you need to make sure your computer is connected to the Internet, equipped with .NET Framework and your Gmail account is valid.

The interface is plain, simple and poses no accommodation problems whatsoever. First of all you need to go through the settings menu, which only requires you to fill in your name, Gmail address and password, with no other settings to tweak or modify.

Once back to the dashboard, all that's left to do is tell the application where the message needs to go by writing down a target email address, as well as a message to be displayed. Hitting the “record” button puts nine seconds at your disposal in which you can say anything you want, as long as there's a microphone connected to your PC.

Quickly after the recording session is over, confusions slowly starts to kick in. You can get a preview by pressing “play” or clear the message and record again. However, there's a complete absence of a button or any other function to forcefully send the message, leaving you to wonder whether or not the target received it.

The application wants to reduce your effort to a minimum by automatically sending the message. However, there's no status report and tested out with different services as targets, the outcome only made us a little older, without receiving the message.

On an ending note, VMail comes with good intentions, putting a simple and comprehensive environment at your disposal to easily send voice emails to family, friends or business associates. Sadly, functionality issues keep it from delivering the message, without feedback regarding status, nor any option to manually send or even get ahold of the recording to send it through methods you're already familiar with.
