Softpedia Editor's Review for CuteFTP Pro
|
Absolutely the easiest way to transfer files across the Internet
Written by Bogdan Popa on November 18th, 2011
If you’re not sure which FTP client to use and you just want one that looks cute well… search no more, here’s CuteFTP, an application that has been designed to look good but to also bring so many handy tools.
CuteFTP Pro is quite easy to use, despite the fact that FTP clients usually need some computer knowledge.
The program offers users a comprehensive configuration wizard that will guide them through the whole setup process, while the help manual is simply overwhelming thanks to the sheer amount of information it provides.
The application fully supports drag and drop so you just have to drag files around to upload them to your FTP server, but in case you want to stick to the basics, there’s also a rich right-click menu to help you in this regard.
CuteFTP Pro includes so many great goodies, such as a HTML editor and a podcast manager, but what really brought a smile on our faces during the tests was the macros & scripting tool for building fully automated actions.
Otherwise, CuteFTP Pro has all the things you’d expect from a full-featured FTP client, so you won’t be disappointed at all. Plus, it remains quite light on computer resources all the time, which means it could be easily loaded on older machines too.
Be careful though because the installer also attempts to drop some unnecessary tools on your computer, so extra care is recommended if you wish to end up with a clean install.
But all in all, CuteFTP Pro is one of the best FTP clients in the market, and although it comes with a hefty price, it’s still worth a chance.
