GreatNews is a comprehensive and handy application that comes in handy when you want to quickly check newsfeeds from all your favorite websites such as CNN, Yahoo, personal or friends blogs. It features a few built-in display styles, such as the newspaper, which offers a natural reading interface, to brief which provides quick reads to those in a hurry.

The program is wrapped in a well-organized and modern layout with a tree structure on the left side of the window and on the right a basic web browser that loads pages at a good speed.

To add a new feed all you have to do is access the menu and type in the URL that can be validated, along with options, such as retrieving the properties from the Internet, inputting the authentication information if necessary, and selecting a proper category.

You can opt to show the news from all channels on the same page, and you have full control over the number of articles displayed at the same time. Plus, from the "View" menu you can change the reading pane to left or right, show the news list and the feed bar, along with the language interface.

GreatNews lets you update the news at a specific interval, mark all as read, as well as add, edit and delete feeds. It's possible to organize and move the links to existing groups and create new ones to best suit your tastes.

You can do a global search for a particular term or just in the available items, and view the feed statistics that offers a few options, like most and least visited news, and the ones accessed in the last 60 days.

Other useful features are the ability to import a list from a stored file (OPML, XML) on the computer or from the Internet, and export feeds from OPML and XML format, or news to RSS type.
