freeTunes is a simple-to-use program that helps you back up DRM protected music, videos, audiobooks or podcasts from WMA, MP4, AAC, WMV and M4V files to various well-known audio formats. At the same time, you can play your favorite songs, as well as access, learn, and gather information about the song's artist, album, track position or year of release.

The interface of the application is intuitive and quite simple to navigate through because it isn't overcrowded with tabs or icons.

Media files can be imported into a list by either using the add file or folder button or the "drag and drop" function. In order to save time, freeTunes supports batch processing of files.

From the right side section of the main window, you can check out the cover picture, title of the album, track number, release year and name of the artist of the song you are currently converting or listening to.

Before converting files, you have the possibility to choose the output format, channel mode, bitrate and sample rate, then you can specify the target path.

In addition to modifying the audio settings that increase the output quality of media files, you can remove an item from the list or clear the entire queue. You can directly open the contents of your CDs or DVDs from within the application.

This audio conversion program runs on a low-to-moderate amount of system resources, has a good response time, finishes tasks quickly and maintains a good sound quality of the output files. During our evaluation, we did not encounter any errors, crashes or problems. Moreover, it is equally beneficial to have a look at the help file in case you are uncertain about the program's functionality.
