AAC to MP3 Converter
AAC to MP3 Converter is a software with a title that pretty much explains its functionality - it allows you to encode AAC files to the MP3 format. But you can also perform the reversed process.
If you're using Windows 7, then make sure to run AAC to MP3 Converter with administrative rights. Otherwise, a few errors will pop up during runtime.
The interface of the program is based on a simple window in which you can import audio tracks into the queue by using the file browser only, since the "drag and drop" method is not supported. Batch processing is allowed but you can add only one file at a time.
In the list you can check out the source path and size of each track. Once you specify the input file, output destination and filename, conversion is automatically initialized.
Unfortunately, there is no cancel button. In addition, you can delete an entry from the list, as well as preview audio tracks in a built-in media player.
The audio encoding tool runs on a low-to-moderate amount of system resources, quickly finishes a task and manages to keep a fair sound quality. No errors have occurred during our tests and AAC to MP3 Converter did not freeze or crash. It may take a while to play songs, depending on the file's size.
However, AAC to MP3 Converter doesn't let you configure any settings regarding the audio stream (e.g. sampling rate, bit rate, volume, channels) or the program itself (e.g. enable to automatically run at system startup or to minimize to system tray). We recommend AAC to MP3 Converter with reservations.
