Softpedia Editor's Review for Audio/Video To Exe
|
A small application that will convert audio/video files into other audio/video formats or an executable
Written by Elena Opris on November 21st, 2011
Audio/Video To Exe is a tool that enables the user to convert audio and video formats to other audio/video extensions, as well as executable files.
The GUI is intuitive, and you don't have to be an expert user to figure out how this software works.
Once you open an audio or video file, you can select to convert it to another similar type. The program supports most popular extensions, including MP3, WAV, AVI, 3GP, MKV, OGG and WMA.
All you have to do is specify a destination folder, and wait for the conversion to finish (this can take a pretty long time, according to the size of the source file, and the type of the output file).
In addition, you can use an AVI Muxer to overlap a silent AVI file and an audio file, an ID3 Tag Editor for audio files, a WAV creator, and others.
Unfortunately, Direct-Cut and Video Capture are not available in our case.
In the Settings menu, you can configure language (English or German), set an automatic path for all output files, select converting method (file-encoding or stream-encoding), and change video resolution.
Configuring the default path for executable files, as well as setting the audio and video bitrate are only available in the Pro edition of Audio/Video To Exe.
We tried converting several file types and in some cases, image and sound quality were perfectly maintained. Otherwise, image quality was seriously reduced (which is normal when, for instance you are converting AVI to MKV, and obtain a file with a significant reduction in size - over 50%).
The program uses a moderate amount of CPU and memory resources. Plus, there is a help file in English and German you can look into.
In conclusion, Audio/Video To Exe proves to be a surprising tool for converting audio and video files, and it does its job well most of the times.
