Free Audio Convert Wizard

Free Audio Convert Wizard is a simple-to-use piece of software designed to help you turn audio tracks into other formats, as the name implies. It does not come packed with advanced features or configuration parameters, so it can be used by anyone with ease.

The setup procedure is a little tricky, especially if you are not familiarized with ad-supported software. Free Audio Convert Wizard offers to download and install third-party applications that it does not actually need to work properly. However, all of them can be ether declined or skipped by paying a little attention.

The GUI is minimalistic, based on a regular window with a user-friendly structure, where you can add audio tracks from file and study properties when it comes to the full path, duration, audio bit rate and encoder.

Batch processing is supported, which means that you can add multiple tracks to the list and encode all of them at the same time to reduce the workload overall. Plus, the tracks can be previewed in the default audio player.

In the next step you can specify the output format between WAV, MP3, WMA, OGG, AAC, M4A, FLAC and MP2, along with the saving directory and profile preset (e.g. quality, frequency, channel mode).

During encoding jobs you can set the tool to play a sound and turn off the computer as soon as the tasks are completed. Plus, you can examine information in terms of currently processed file, elapsed and remaining time, and so on. All activity is recorded to a log area.

The app leaves a small footprint on system resources, since it runs on low CPU and RAM. It has a good response time and works well, without triggering Windows to hang, crash or pop up error messages. Too bad that it's filled with adware at installation, and that it does not make room for output configuration when it comes to the audio properties. Otherwise, Free Audio Convert Wizard delivers quality audio tracks fast and can be used by anyone with ease.
