mp3Split is a program that has a pretty self-explanatory title - it allows you to split audio tracks with the MP3 extension.
This is a portable application, so you don't have to install mp3Split. You can store the tool on a removable drive, plug it into any computer and directly run its executable file.
The interface of the software is very plain and easy to work with. There are pretty limited features at your disposal.
Audio tracks can be opened from file or folder by using either the file browser or the "drag and drop" method. Batch processing is allowed.
So, you can specify an output location or place the new files in the same folder as their originals. Furthermore, you can set the number of minutes per part, as well as remove an item from the list. During the splitting process you can check out a progress bar for the total files and the current one.
The simplistic program takes up a low-to-moderate amount of system resources and quickly splits a song without causing us any difficulties. Everything ran smoothly during our tests. The sound quality is maintained at an excellent level.
On the other hand, you don't have multiple splitting modes at your disposal. For instance, you cannot split tracks by size or by marking the start and end time. Also, the interface is outdated, so improvements are welcomed. Other than that, mp3Split can be easily used by any level and we recommend it to anyone who prefers a straightforward tool.
