Audio Output Switcher

Audio Output Switcher provides you with a very simple solution to toggling multiple audio output devices. It silently runs in the system tray until you open its right-click menu, thus allowing you to select another audio playback device.

Once installed, the tool creates an icon in the taskbar notifications area and becomes active immediately. No changes are made to your computer without your permission, apart from the fact that the program is set to automatically run at every Windows startup, thus contributing to a slower boot time.  However, you can easily deactivate this option with one click from the tray icon's context menu.

It is possible to create a list with programs to monitor and assign an audio device to each one of them, so that Audio Output Switcher knows what sound device to automatically switch to. We should mention that the selected application must be currently running in order for the tool to identify it. The monitor is started with one click and can be just as easily stopped.

The software utility lets you configure global hotkeys for switching to each audio device, cycling to the next one in the list, as well as for increasing, decreasing or muting the volume. Lastly, you can set a communication device.

We have not come across any problems throughout our testing, thanks to the fact that Audio Output Switcher did not hang, crash or display error messages. It immediately executed user commands and left a small footprint on system resources, using low CPU and RAM.

Although it's not that rich in features, Audio Output Switcher provides a simple way to assigning audio devices for individual applications, as well as for configuring global hotkeys to control system volume.
