The upper hand of a portable app
You can skip the installation process, as this utility is portable. You can copy the program files to any location on the hard drive and run it with just a click of the button, as well as place the last mentioned files to an external data device, so as to use Grand Piano on the fly, on any computer you have been granted access to.
Another important aspect is that the Windows registry and Start menu/screen are not going to suffer any changes, and traces are not going to be left behind.
The interface you are met with presents a design which can only be described as being simple. It is only comprised of 17 piano keys and therefore, it is safe to assume that all types of users can find their way around it, regardless of their previous experience with computers or pianos.
Performance and tweaks
This software app enables you to play 17 piano keys which correspond to the numeric keys and the upper letters. Aside from that, you should know that it is possible to switch octaves by simply pressing the keyboard arrows.
CPU and memory usage is minimal at all times which means that it is not going to put a strain on the computer’s performance and you can run it alongside other apps without encountering any kind of issues.
In conclusion, Grand Piano is a tiny, yet pretty handy piece of software when it comes to playing a virtual piano. The response time is good, the interface is minimal and we did not detect any kind of errors. Nevertheless, you should know that it lacks options that other similar products incorporate.
