All pictures you take are equipped with an abundance of related details, such as shot time, ISO, or even GPS coordinates. These are accessed from a file’s properties panel, with the possibility to edit as well. In this regard, ExifPhotoStamper wants to put these details to good use and stamp them on the actual pictures.

Before you can take the application for a spin, you need to make sure that Java Runtime Environment is already on your computer. On the other hand, the program saves you the time and effort of going through a setup process, and can thus be easily carried around on a thumb drive, without affecting stability of the computer it’s used on.

The visual design consists of several fields which need to be filled in with the folder to read, as well as the one to save new pictures, thus not overwriting original ones. Drag and drop is not supported, so folders need to be selected through the browse dialogs.

Needless to say that target pictures need to be fitted with EXIF data for the operation to be successful. A dedicated field shows all values you can extract and the appropriate code you need to write. The format can be completely customized by filling it with code bits of interest.

Apart from data to grab, the application also asks how and where to write details. This means you can customize font and color used, whether or not to drop shadow, position on picture, and size. Sadly, there’s no preview are to at least get an idea how text fits on a general picture.
